Pine Smoke Aroma

Dried Longan Fragrance

Lapsang Souchong, produced in Tongmu Guan, Wu Yi Mountain, Fujian, is regarded as the ancestor of all black teas. The history of this tea dates back over 400 years, with production beginning in the late Ming Dynasty and reaching its peak during the mid-Qing Dynasty. The production process of Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong (Lapsang Souchong) is unique, utilizing pine wood smoke to impart the distinctive pine smoke aroma and dried longan fragrance, which are its most representative characteristics.

The production process of Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong includes two types: smoked and unsmoked. Our company focuses on the smoked variety, using traditional pine needles and pine wood for the smoking process, which results in a richer tea soup color and a fragrance with longan notes, making it smoother and sweeter in taste. The unsmoked variety does not undergo the smoking process and features only woody aromas and the unique atmosphere of the Tongmu Mountain region.
