Huang Guan Yin
(Yellow Goddess)
Clear and Lingering Aroma
Intensely Fragrant
Wuyi Rock Tea Huang Guan Yin (Yellow Goddess) is a unique and high-quality oolong tea variety, developed by the Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 1977 through hybrid breeding. Its parent varieties are Tieguanyin (Iron Goddess) and Huang Dan (also known as Huangjin Gui), making it one of the finest oolong teas. Huang Guan Yin features a small arbor type, medium-sized leaves, and an early-maturing growth habit. The trees are tall with a semi-open structure and dense branches. The leaves are horizontally arranged, oval to long-oval in shape, yellow-green in color, with a glossy surface. The leaf veins are prominent, the edges are smooth, and the tips are blunt. The texture of the leaves is thick and brittle.
Huang Guan Yin is ideal for making oolong tea, known for its excellent quality, tightly rolled leaves, and rich fragrance. It exhibits the characteristic "Lingering aroma" and has a rich, smooth, and refreshing taste. Additionally, Huang Guan Yin is humorously referred to as "little cinnamon" because its aroma and flavor are reminiscent of cinnamon. With a lighter fermentation, it presents floral notes, while a heavier fermentation brings out fruitiness, all while maintaining a rich and refreshing flavor.
