白雞冠
Bai Ji Guan
(White Cockscomb)
Lingering Aroma on the Palate
Refreshing Mind and Brightening Eyes
Bai Ji Guan (White Cockscomb) is one of the four famous varieties of Wu Yi rock tea, grown in the Hui Yuan Yan and the back mountains of Wu Yi Mountain. The young leaves are unique, light green with a hint of white, and the buds are curved with prominent white hairs, resembling the cockscomb on a white rooster’s head, hence the name Bai Ji Guan. The tea is typically harvested in late May, with two or three leaves picked, and during this time, the leaves are green with a reddish hue and a lasting sweet aftertaste.
When brewed, Bai Ji Guan tea has a bright orange-yellow color, and the taste is fragrant with a refreshing, clear sensation, leaving the mouth feeling crisp and bright. Due to its limited yield and small planting area, with less than 500 pounds produced in all of Wu Yi Mountain, Bai Ji Guan is a rare and precious tea.
