鐵羅漢
Tie Luo Han
(Iron Monk)
Herbal Floral Aroma
Lingering and Profound Flavor
Tie Luo Han (Iron Monk) rock tea is produced in the Wu Yi Mountain Nature Reserve in Fujian. Its quality characteristics include a deep orange tea soup color, a lingering aftertaste, and a blend of floral, sweet, and woody notes in the throat, making it highly resilient to multiple infusions. Tie Luo Han is known for its rich, complex aroma, with intertwining floral, herbal, and medicinal scents. It is famously described as " It is not as rich as Shui Xian (Narcissus), nor as domineering as Tie Luo Han." It ranks alongside Da Hong Pao (Big Red Robe), Bai Ji Guan (White Cockscomb), and Shui Jin Gui as one of the four famous varieties of Wu Yi rock tea.
The history of Tie Luo Han dates back to the Song Dynasty, but it gained high regard during the Qing Dynasty. Records indicate that the mother tree of Tie Luo Han originated from a narrow creek near the cliffs of Nei Gui Cave. Its unique growing environment and climate conditions contribute to its distinct flavor and aroma. Known for its cooling and fever-reducing properties, Tie Luo Han is considered a must-have remedy in tropical regions, particularly in Southeast Asia. In Fujian, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia, it is beloved by many tea enthusiasts for its medicinal benefits.
